1102 Common Myna

Ala Moana Beach Park (probably)
Honolulu, Hawaii
January 28, 2014

This is the first set of two I photographed while in Hawaii recently. The Myna (can be spelled Mynah) is from Asia and has been introduced to many places – including Hawaii. It is an invasive bird, much like the European Starling, and not a friend to native species. They are very territorial and can be aggressive. They are, however, excellent talkers when tamed and trained.

This photo was taken in Waimanalo, on the windward side of the island of Oahu.
