My gallery of bird photos, started in 2006 when my son-in-law, Shawn, got me into birding. When I first started the blog (February 4, 2008) I posted photos from guest photographers that I met on BirdsPix, a Google user group. I began posting my photos from the past couple years until I got caught up to what I was shooting in 2008. My first bird photo was 004 – a Glaucous-winged Gull I took out in front of our home on Vaughn Bay, Washington.

Along the right side of the blog, in the sidebar, you will see a list of months that go back to February 2008. If you click on Feb 2008 you will get the calendar for that month. Find the yellow numbers on the calendar in the sidebar. By clicking on the yellow number you will be able to see all the photos posted on that day. Remember, the later photos are shown first because they are added to photos already posted. This is the easiest way to go back to the blog’s beginnings.

It was May 11, 2008, when I posted my first bird photo on AKA Bird Nerd. I was living in Maine at the time, but have since moved to Washington State. The photo was a White-crowned Sparrow on the deck in my backyard.

To see all of Shawn Weigelt’s photos, click on Weigelt Photos in the sidebar under Categories. In the calendar, click on May 2008 and then on day 11 to get to the beginning of my postings. When you click on a day you will get photos from both myself and my father-in-law.
